Gudy Van Poppel folders part 4
Recently I added another "series" folder to my collection. Wild damascus steel, and Walnut burl wood for the handle.
Here's a pic showing all 5 of them together:
And I think more will follow... As long as Gudy keeps making them, I will keep buying them!

Deviant Blades
A group picture of my "Deviant Blades" folders.Belgian knifemaker Filip De Leeuw made these beauties. He makes a wide range of folders, from simple G10 & RWL34 friction folders to all-out customs with damascus & mammoth Ivory.

Viking Sword by Alex Salsi
Belgian knifemaker with Italian roots, Alessio "Alex" Salsi, made this fantastic Viking Sword. The multibar damascus for the blade was forged by Achim Wirtz. Other materials used: bog-oak for the handle, linden wood for the sheath, oak for the box. It came with a belt as well.
Pictures:
The sword is constructed the way it was done centuries ago. To make the wood carvings, Alex made his own tools. One of those was included with the sword. It has a boxwood handle, and a damascus blade.
This complete package is one of the TOP pieces in my collection, and the best work of Alex, so far. But I'm sure he has more up his sleeve!

Gudy Van Poppel folders (part 3)
In the meantime, I have purchased a 4th "series" folder. This time not as fancy, a more basic version. Damascus blade, "Bruyere" wood handle (the wood pipes are made of, in English: briar wood)
Gudy Van Poppel folders (part 2)
Another nice "Series" folder made by my friend Gudy Van Poppel. Mammoth & Damascus.
And a groupshot of the 3 of them together:

Gudy Van Poppel folders
2 very nice folders made by dutch knifemaker Gudy Van Poppel. I have a 3rd one of the same model as well, but didn't take any pictures yet.
Gudy is one of my "top" favorite knife makers, and he's also a very nice guy, and I'm proud to call him "friend".
First one has a mammoth ivory handle, damascus steel blade & bolsters, and berillium liners. It is a button-activated linerlock (pressing the button unlocks the liner).

W. D. Pease "Colorado" folder
This is a very nice folder, made by W.D. Pease, in my eyes one of the BEST folder makers in the world. Materials are stag & damascus for the handle, 154CM steel for the blade.
Kaj Embretsen "Bartender"
Here's a picture of one of my favorite folders. Made by Kaj Embretsen, a Swedish knifemaker.
All blades, the corkscrew and the bolsters are made from damascus steel forged by Kaj. Handle slabs are mammoth ivory, and the pins are gold
